Bush Fire Danger Period and Fire Permits
It is currently the Bush Fire Danger Period
Fire Permits are required for burning activities (as of September 1)

A Fire Permit is required for burning activities during the Bush Fire Danger Period in rural fire districts such as Larnook.

Even if a permit is not required, if you are planning a burn, you need to let RFS know before lighting up. Follow this link to the NSW RFS website to do so.
During the Bush Fire Danger Period you can still use fire, but there are restrictions to ensure fire is used safely. There are heavy penalties if you don't follow restrictions or rules. Getting a permit is free and easy.
